Inside Out, "Everyone Matters" at Glades Middle School
Glades Middle School's Peer Counseling Program will be sponsoring a project called Inside Out. Inside Out is a global art project that gives communities all over the world a platform to express themselves through black and white photographs. Additionally, it allows everyone participating an opportunity to share an individual portrait and make a statement. The pictures taken are headshots of individuals, which are printed on posters, and pasted on public spaces. This global platform allows people to tell their untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art.
Since 2007, installations have appeared on walls, sidewalks, streets, skyscrapers and historic buildings around the globe. Each installation around the world is documented, archived and exhibited online to tell stories of community groups. More than 120,000 people from more than 108 countries have participated.
At GMS, Peer Counseling is encouraging school-wide participation by sharing our theme “Everyone Matters.” In order to spread this Universal Message, we need 200 students/staff members to partake in getting their photograph taken. If your son/daughter is interested in participating on Thursday, September 17, 2015, please fill out and sign the Legal Model Release Form and turn it in to the front office. Two hundred Release Forms will be drawn randomly and the selected students will be notified of the time and place in which they will be photographed. This project will showcase the human spirit of our GMS family and will be a celebration of our differences. For more information, please visit the Inside Out website. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!
